  • Not Carded

Well I went to Johnny Carinos tonight, drank half bottle of wine, didnt get carded, life is good. To think that the next great action movie of our time is only a couple of weeks away, it's such an exciting time for film. I've already read a critique on V For Vendetta by one critic who said something along the lines of "V reads poetry and there are so many layers to the story and all I want is action". Well GOD FORBID that an action movie makes you think! Yeah we seriously need to thank the Wachowskis for this. Peter Travers at Rolling Stone already said the movie kicks ass. That's all we need!

    P.S.

After taking two rather large and awkward wooden palates through my house, and finally stumbling down stairs and storing them in a room because my mother isnt strong enough to accomplish such a task, I sat down and was told by this unappreciatted bitch that certain needs of hers havent been met, therefore i wont be getting cox for three months. Her needs by the way are that of my room not being clean which is complete bullshit because i work daily on my room, i just take a long time making sure things are perfect is all. So I wont have internet after march 9th

  • Really!  Everyone gets all pissed off at me, when I point out the social commentary in movies such as Predator, RoboCop and Starship Troopers.  And should we all turn a blind eye to the spiritual messages in the Matrix?  The inner meaning, in my opinion, often adds to a movie's re-watchability, even when I disagree with the message they're trying to get across.  On the other hand, there is a point where the filmmakers go too far, and make their films more about the message than the entertainment.  Personally, I think it's best when there's a balance. The movie needs to be able to appear as just solid entertainment, where extra thinking isn't required, but hide the message in places where you wouldn't notice it, unless you were looking for one. That's one of the wonderful things about action movies. Starship Troopers is a wonderful example, because it actually tries to make its anti-war point, by temporarily turning its audience into semi-fascists, through the use of a typical American action movie format, and occasionally letting some hints slide that the goodguys are actually badguys.  That kind of filmmaking makes action movies worth thinking about.

  • When does V come out anyway?

  • Thats a bitch, you should try and steal it like I do.
